1. MATCH REPORT
  2. Sunday 18th October
  3. Bury Town 1 v Bury Tigers 3
  4. Mrs P had great delight In telling me that I had made a mistake in last weeks report “ its H.J. Pearson, not H.G. like wot you put in your report mate !” she gleamed. Well I’m sorry to disappoint Mrs P but it was in-fact a typing error from 1 of your fellow MAGS, it was  Mrs Leb or Walters who messed up (not sure which ?), either way like I’ve told you before I’m male and we don’t make mistakes !  It was a bright autumnal Sunday morning as Tigers made their way to the Victory ground to play Bury Town Youth. Boss Keano Walters had some tough decisions to make with influential skipper Harvey D missing ( playing table-tennis for Suffolk. Hope it went well mate) and defender Clayton M was also absent, it was however great to see James Fabregas Blyth back in action. Keano decided Alex the rock Walters was the man to fill Harveys boots in midfield so he moved forward from defence, George Gallas Fox moved across to centre back alongside Jarrad and midfielders Ellie P and Scott Huddlestone Betts moved backwards into the full-back slots…..( still with me ?) meaning the latter (Scott) has played in nearly every position on the pitch so far this season....watch out Iwan he’s after the keepers jersey next!! Tigers new look defence were given an early warning that keeping Town’s strikers out wouldn’t be easy as they crashed a shot against Tigers crossbar ! That warning sparked Tigers into life and they began to produce some fine football, Josh Joe Cole Shutler, Fabian Shearer Horrox, Miles Drogba Orlopp and Max Ronaldo Stubbs all a constant threat to Towns defence while Alex W and Josh D were on top in midfield. Then Ronaldo Stubbs weaved his way to the Town by-line pulled the ball back across goal for  Fabian who’s clinical finish made it 0-1. Fabian then linked well down the leftwing with Josh Shutler and Josh’s wonderful left foot cross was headed into the net by Max Ronaldo Stubbs to make it 0-2. Tigers were flying now and Miles O, Fabian H and Josh D all went close to increasing their lead before the 3rd did arrive, great work from livewire striker Luke Walker teed-up Alex the rock Walters who’s 1st time volley flew into the far corner, a great goal, 0-3. Town were struggling to cope and it started to show as some of their tackling became….well rather naughty (I’m being kind) and it was no real surprise when Ronaldo Stubbs won a penalty, what was more surprising was that he got up and put his spot kick inches wide. ( Why isn’t there a beach-ball in the penalty area when you need 1, hey Max !!) Never mind Mate as you’d scored earlier we won’t put you in the stocks and throw rotten tomatoes at ya . H.T 0-3.  Half-time means Oranges, Luke gleefully polished off at least half the bowl full and then asked me not mention it in the report….so I won’t .  As expected Town came out strong after the break and Tigers had to show their more resilient side for a while. Ellie P, Georgie Fox, Jarrad L and Scott B were all doing brilliantly at the back, Alex was enjoying his outing alongside Josh D in centre mid, both revelling in the thick of the action .Town to their credit played well in the 2nd half and deservedly got a goal back with a neat finish. Despite this Tigers remained in control and Josh D and Lukie Tango-man Walker went mighty close to restoring the 3 goal lead. Iwan the cat Williams was in super-cool mood, making a good punch from a dangerous corner and sweeping up well behind his defence. Josh Shuts, Fabs and Maxie all went close for Tigers before at the other end James Fabregas Blyth capped a fine return with a vital clearance to deny Town. Town hit the post late on but it was Tigers day and they ran out deserved winners and some of the footie the boys played at times was fantastico !! There ends this made-up rubbish (if you believe the MAGS report that is ?)  I’m off to put my feet up for a week or 2, enjoy your half term everyone and c.u soon

Well played Tigers and well done Keano Walters ( TACTICAL GENIUS ).

Morton Hall Directories M.O.M. : Joshua Shutler, wing wizardry at it’s best, intelligent passing, great crossing and worked hard. Well done mate.
