MATCH REPORT - SUNDAY 24th February

ELMSWELL 0  000BURY TIGERS 0

Yeah  Yeah  Hilarious!!! I hope everyone in Sainsbury’s car park who sniggered, pointed and shouted at me as I arrived on Sunday morning is now feeling very ashamed of their behaviour, how could you stoop so low???

We travelled   to Elmswell   for our latest league match without Clayton Mackie who is our 2nd budding Eddie the Eagle Edwards in recent weeks (skiing that is). As the match got under way it was obvious there was very little space on this smallish pitch. Mattie Osborne and Alex Walters looked solid as usual in defence while Harvey Dinkele drove Tiger’s forward from midfield. Luke Walker Tiger’s striker worked the Elmswell defenders hard but chances were few and far between. George Bishop almost sneeked  in at the far post from one cross, Elmswell’s  keeper made a great save from Jarrad Lebbon’s free kick and Mattie Osborne headed just over from a corner while at the other end Matthew Le Poidevin made a decent save from Elmswell’s best chance but a tight 1st half ended goalless.

The second half continued much the same as the first, Max Stubbs tight control and dribbling skills almost forced a goal and Miles Orlopp worked a chance for himself but his shot was blocked. Elmswell’s only real  2nd   half chance was the best of the match but a close range shot flew wide. So the match ended 0 – 0.  For Matthew Le Poidevin a third consecutive clean sheet, and the end of another torturous morning for our keepers dad who was making every kick, catch and save with Matthew from the sidelines, well either that or he was practicing ballet, which he told me he does on Saturday mornings now while Matthew is at training??? I’m not sure, which was it?.  I’ve also got a question to ask our 3 Tigerettes, my daughter Bonnie, Emily and Caitlin who went to the Elmswell snack bar, where’s MY custard creams and hot chocolate??
So another hard fought point was gained by the Tiger boys and manager Rick Walters, who thankfully manages   the team better than he parks his car!!
Well done one and all, home match next week.

Man Of Match: Mattie Osborne : Expect a call from Kevin Keegan soon mate and give him Alex Walter’s number too please. Well done Mattie ‘O’.
