MATCH REPORT - SUNDAY 10th February

IPSWICH VALLEY RANGERS A 0  000BURY TIGERS 3

Hands up if your getting fed up of looking at the back of the Osbornes car at the moment, as we trek our way around what must be most of Anglia, for Tigers recent games, Well good news, Sundays trip to Ispwich was the last long journey this season. Although I’ve heard a rumour that Wayne is trying to get a couple of end of season friendly’s, one in Scotland against John O’Groats U10’s and the other in Cornwall against Land’s End Utd.!!!!!!!!............... Of course I’m only joking…. We love your car Wayne.

Tigers welcomed back keeper Matthew Le Poidevin and striker Luke Walker for Sunday’s match but Harvey Dinkele was away, hurtling down the ski slops of France (I believe). The game started slowly with defences on top, Rangers pressed for the opening goal but found Alex Walter’s and Mattie Osborne hard to pass. Tigers midfield slowly settled and began to push forward, just as  the first half looked destined to be scoreless up popped Max Stubbs with a superb though ball for Luke Walker, the striker’s decisive finish gave Tigers a half-time lead 0 – 1.

Tigers bossed the second half for long spells with Elliot Pearson pulling the strings in midfield. Tiger’s pressure reaped its rewards when Elliot Pearson weaved his way into the box to score number two. Rangers never gave up and a couple of well worked moves had to be well defended by Mattie Osborne and Matthew Le Poidevin.  Elliot Pearson then slotted home Tiger’s third with a cool finish to seal victory. Further chances came as Alex Walters crashed a header against the bar and Miles Orlopp went close on 3 occasions hitting the post, goalkeeper and a defender on the line but his luck was out. Tigers completed a fine victory, and for Matthew Le Poidevin a clean sheet on his return.

Well done everyone and next Sunday a game in Bury “Hooray !!”

Man Of Match: Mattie Osborne: Great defending, Great Attitude, Great Leadership, Supports  Liverpool (well nobody’s perfect mate!) Well done.
