MATCH REPORT - SUNDAY 17th February MORETON HALL B 0 000BURY TIGERS 1 Usually on a Sunday before a Tiger’s match I get my own personal football results service as the boys let me know just how many Newcastle have lost by the day before. Well they didn’t lose this week ( because they didn’t play!) so I thought I’d ask ,for a change, how their teams had done, starting with Matthew Le Poidevin, Elliot Pearson and Mattie Osborne “How did Liverpool get on against lowly little Barnsley” I asked…. nasty??..... Yes, but all part of my cunning plan to fire the boys up for their match. I’m sure my own results service will be back in perfect working order next week as Newcastle have an EASY,PEASY game against Man Utd on Saturday. Early in the second half Tiger’s went close on two occasions Max Stubbs header went just over from Elliot Pearson’s corner, then great work from Mile’s Orlopp set Elliot Pearson away and his shot flew just wide. As time went on Moreton Hall pushed players forward in search of an equaliser. Tiger’s determination and spirit was brilliant, Jarrad Lebbon typified this with the complete all round midfield display while Mattie Osborne and Alex Walter’s were producing another solid defensive display, one which had the game been shown on Match of the day, would have had Alan Hansen leaping with joy!! One final Moreton Hall attack saw their keeper arrive in Tiger’s area but Matthew Le Poidevin was determined to keep a very creditable clean sheet against a decent Moreton Hall team and so a good away victory was achieved in a very entertaining game. Well done to Rick and the Tiger boys, “ Wicked performance lads” ( I think that’s good in kidz talk ? ). Another toughie next week as we travel to Elmswell, hope to see you all then? Man Of Match: Jarrad Lebbon: I’d like to say he gets his energy, determination and skill from his Dad, so I will…, But he don’t!!! . Well done Jazza. Back to this weeks Match Report
